I happened across this site searching for some information/discussion about the 'yoke angle' and how that tied into the other factors [i.e. rake, offset, trail etc] regarding the ride of a bike. I suspect that small changes in yoke angle could have a significant affect on the handling of a bike.

It's mainly down to the size, multiplate clutches are more compact than the single dry plate, although they have been used in some bikes previously.

But why do bikes have them! They stick like hell (bang in to 1st and clunk EVERY gearchange!) Cars have several times the power and several times the weight and manage with single dry plate clutches.
I would love an answer to this as it has puzzled me for 40 years.

One of the most tragic stories of last year, this boy was a real talent and had the potential to be better than Rossi, Foggy and anyone else you may care to mention.

RIP Marco.

Hi Bikearama,

My name is Peter Olt and I have been riding bikes for 30 years. I have a created a new warning system for motorcycles and would appreciate some feedback. It’s a patented horn & light system for motorcycles, cars and boats.

We are launching the product through a website call KickStarter.com – it’s an online invention promotion and funding site. We have already had a lot of enthusiastic feedback from people backing us on KickStarter, and we would now like to industry professionals to give your opinion.

If you have time to take a look, I would appreciate it – the link has a video where you can see what it does in a couple of minutes:

Thank you

Recently went to a cafe that was having a classic motorcycle auction, the bikes were on display for about six weeks prior to auction to give people a chance to get in there and have a good look around. There were a number of ducati's there one of them being the Mike Hailwood speciel priced at around $15,000. I kicked myself after for not taking any photos, will do next time. Sorry can't help with the Triumph model
